My line of work calls for long hours sitting in front of the computer. Most of the time, Id end up with an aching back, painful shoulders, and tired hands and fingers. A few years ago, before I go to sleep at night, Id pop in a pain reliever tablet in the hopes of waking up refreshed and ache-free the next day. Unfortunately, I developed gastritis from my frequent intakes of Ibuprofen and even had to be rushed to the ER one night due to severe upper stomach pain. Since then, I always had to choose between curing my muscle aches and risking stomach upset or enduring the body pains to prevent tummy troubles.
My alternative remedy was to slather the painful areas with liniment which gave off a burning sensation on the skin a minute or so after application. Too, this liquid has such a strong smell, I dare not apply it during the day time when I might have to go out as I would probably smell funny to people Id pass by. Over the years, Ive kept looking for an effective treatment for my work-related woes that dont present a lot of negative side effects.
A month ago, I discovered the Spa Essentials www.spaessentials.com.ph line and was very glad to have finally found one particular product that has been giving me relief these past few weeks: the Spa Essentials Massage Oil for Aches and Pain.
It says on the label A deeply penetrating massage oil with a blend of soothing Ginger, Peppermint and Rosemary to warm the skin and help revive tired or sore muscles. The smell is very pleasant and the oil goes on smoothly on my skin without the greasiness that I associate with other massage oils Ive tried in the past. I specially appreciate the fact that it is indicated to be made of 100% pure and natural essential oils plus natural vitamin E that acts as an anti-oxidant. In a nutshell, this massage oil has my skin literally, and figuratively, covered.
The first night I tried it, I poured some oil on one palm and rubbed my hands together. Then, I massaged the oil on one shoulder then the other. I also rubbed the whole length of my arms as well as my hands and each finger with the oil to work in those healing elements.
Before I finally retired for the night, I also made a point to spray my pillow with Spa Essentials Stress Relief Linen Spray to complete my wellness regimen. This one has a blend of calming Lavender, Sweet Orange and Himalayan Cedarwood essential oils that are said to help calm and ease a tired mind or body. The funny thing is, the scent reminded me strongly of a chewable vitamin called Cetrinets that I used to love taking when I was still a little kid. Maybe it was the sweet orange scent that did it. Anyway, enveloped in such wonderful aromas, I drifted off to dreamland soon after. When I woke up the next morning, I was amazingly and thoroughly refreshed. Really!
What I love about the Spa Essentials line is the variety of scents you can choose from. Aside from the two that I already mentioned, my kids and I have also tried the Spa Essentials Breathe Easy Linen Spray on our pillows on nights we had stuffy noses. This one has Peppermint, Eucalyptus and Tea Tree essential oils to help soothe breathing. Theres also the Spa Essentials Sleep Easy Linen Spray with Himalayan Cedarwood and Lavender essential oils that helps set the stage for a good nights sleep. I find this scent very relaxing.
On days that I already feel some muscle soreness building up but I still need to keep on working, I would sometimes ask my hubby to rub my back and shoulders with the Spa Essentials Energy Massage Oil which is infused with Peppermint, May Chang and Lemongrass essential oils. Whats great about it is that the nice smell will surround me afterwards and help lift my mood up while I continue to work.
Each variant is easy to identify because they are color-coded. The labels are also very attractive.
Nowadays, I no longer dread long hours in front of the computer that much. I have an arsenal of good sleep-inducing products on standby to help drain away the tiredness at the end of each stressful day.
